Taking the Day

Hey sweet readers,

My apologies for the lack of recipe post today. I have a really good reason, though.

This past weekend, The Boyfriend popped the question. Nope, not, "Hey hon, can you make that Avocado Chicken Salad I like?" The other one. The good one. The one where in the end, I wear a white dress and we all get to eat cake.

This won't change the blog at all, except henceforth, he'll be referred to as The Husband-Elect, and I'll be referred to as The Very Happy Lady Who Makes the Cheap/Light Food and Also Occasionally Marries Guys She Really Digs.

Or maybe we'll stick with Kris.

Regular posting will resume tomorrow. See you then.

Yay!
Kris

I look forward to the Cheap Healthy Good Wedding Edition.

PS: My favorite wedding blog is Style Me Pretty. It's better than a bridal mag and has tons of unique, copy-able ideas for flowers and decor.

Congratulations to you both!! I love reading your blog (found it via Get Rich Slowly awhile back), and I have a soft spot for those recently engaged/married, since my husband and I just got married two weeks ago (as in, it still feels extremely weird to call him "my husband"). Anyway, congrats! Am looking forward to hearing about your wedding reception food. :)

CONGRATS!!!!! You deserve it. Marriage is the best thing you'll ever do together. Enjoy it! And in case you start to doubt your sanity in the next few months, being engaged will be trying. Ahem. But it will all be over soon!

He has excellent taste in ladies. "Husband-elect" is pretty much the best alternate for "fiance" i have ever heard; I will be borrowing that if my guy ever makes that leap :) Congrats!

Super congratulations! Being engaged is so romantic -- you just draw it out as long as you like and thumb your nose at those "when are you getting married" questions.

Congratulations! Long-time reader and lurker here. Figured this was the best day to pop up and say something. :)

Woo-hoo! I thought that marriage wouldn't be a big deal because we'd already lived together for a while, but it is so much better! We're coming up on 11 years and still going strong!

Yay yay yay! Congratulations! I got married 8 months ago and it has been the 8 best months of my life so far. In celebration of the end of your single days, here are some of my most favorite Liz Lemon wedding quotes:

"First I'll buy the dress, then I'll have a baby, then I'll die and meet a cute guy in heaven!"

"I'm prepared to marry myself, if necessary"
